Closer Skateboarding magazine brings together a cross-generation of the best writers and photographers to create a premium, contemporary publication underscored by a reverence for skateboarding’s subcultural history.
As Closer Skateboarding‘s associate editor, I write features which often take a thematic approach and explore facets of skateboarding through individuals with more than one string to their bow. I’ve interviewed professional skateboarders about their wider work as art directors and musicians, photographers and videographers about skateboarding’s creative industry, and Tony Hawk about his namesake video game series that inspired generations to pick up skateboarding.
My writing is mostly published in the quarterly print magazine and I help commission other journalists and photographers and copy edit from time to time. I also occasionally assist with web operations and content management for closerskateboarding.com and create social media content which translate the magazine’s long-form storytelling into fun, digestible highlights.
