Now and Then is a publication celebrating the skateboarding culture and scene of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. 2025 marked the twentieth anniversary of Wakefield’s Division 24 Skate Store, making the local institution the oldest skateboarding retailer in Yorkshire county as well as one of the UK’s most longstanding independent skateboarding businesses.
An event and exhibition was produced by store owner, Wayne Miller alongside Ben Powell, former Sidewalk Magazine editor-in-chief and Wakefield resident. I joined the project as creative director and designer of a publication which presented photographs by local and nationally recognised photographers, newspaper archives and other ephemera, and an essay chronicling the story of Division 24 and wider history of skateboarding in the Wakefield area.
Now and Then is available at Division 24 as well as Welcome Skate Store (Leeds), Note (Manchester), Cardiff Skateboard Club (Wales) and arrives at Theories of Atlantis (New York, USA) in late September.
