Korahn Gayle Interview – Sidewalk Magazine Issue 223
Basically my whole problem is I always change what I think looks good clothes wise… I’m like ‘ah man what was I wearing there?’ and then months later I’ll be wearing something else and be like ‘yeah this is the shit’ and then months later think ‘I look like a dick.’ I might try and do a part in all joggers. I’ve never looked back at joggers and thought they looked whack. I might try film a part in joggers, that’s a plan…
House of Vans – Manchester
“This past weekend, Vans brought a pop up House of Vans to Manchester. Doors opened on the Deansgate venue with a gig on Friday, with Saturday’s main event hosting a variety of obstacles including a mini ramp and small street area. Other attractions included a small exhibition on the history of the SK8-HI, fantastic coffee and food stalls, an embroidery workshop and, to the delight of many a cash strapped skateboarder; free waffles.”
Emerica – Wild In The Streets, Manchester 2015
“Sacking off Granada Studios due to there being way too many cars, Castlefields was the next point of call with Rob Smith telling CJ that as photographer it was his job to get someone down the rail. So ensued remarks about getting Woody to throw himself down it again, he is probably sick of hearing about that day…”
The Kyle Walker Interview
“But it was one of those bottles – I forget what they make it with but there’s sugar in it, they’re super fragile and supposed to break. But that one he actually broke over my head was not as soft I’ll fucking tell you that.”
The Brandon Westgate Interview
Powerhouse by definition, workhorse by nature.
Mark Appleyard – Globe EU Trippin’ Tour
“You know what man? As of recently I have been less interested in travelling because I enjoy being at home with my two and a half year old son. But I still enjoy a good skate trip. Get all the boys together, get the team together and it’s always good. A lot of good skateboarding happens and you polish up on your skating and everything’s good…”
David Gonzales – Globe EU Trippin’ Tour
“I think it’s a lot different to be honest, not so much transition, not so fast – maybe. In America there’s more tranny, more vert skaters, more pool skaters. Here there’s more street, more banks and ledges. Different styles but I think the European’s level is fucking gnarly now, they can compete with anybody now.”
Globe EUTRIPPIN’ – London & Oxford
At one point someone approached Chris with the request of, “my friend couldn’t make it today but he wants to know what your beard feels like so can I stroke it?” to which Chris replied, “go for it but it kind of feels like pubic hair.”
Geoff Rowley Interview – Vans X Lost Art Rowley [SOLOS] Launch
“It was super important to me that my part started in Liverpool, and ended in my current hometown of Long Beach. I felt like the Vans tradition wouldn’t be there unless we looked at it like that. The opening scene was at Edge Lane Skatepark which is where I spent my youth. It was the first skatepark I ever went to and the terrace houses in the background are where my parents grew up, met and then married.”
